Real-World Uses
When evaluating a software product, its usefulness is its most important attribute. No matter how much time and care is expended to the creation of a software program, if it does not solve any real-world problem, it is useless. Innobate
has designed its components to resolve many scheduling situations. The original goal
was to produce a group of components that could be dropped into an application to create a scheduling application for a
local medical. This did prove an ambitious goal in itself. The necessary functionality has been added to
all our scheduling components to accomplish this task and there is even a sample application provided for this purpose.
Our range of components may be used to create applications that have significant, differing scheduling purposes. The first use is an office application. Some of the program features follow. It should graphically display
clients that are scheduled to come into the office on any given day. It should be able to list services provided
for each visit. It should be able to assign an appointment to a to multiple resources such as location, and/or equipment used.
The ability to provide total cost of each visit based on services and
resources consumed. It should have print functionality so that the user can create a hard copy of their schedule. There are other more advanced features
your particular application may require but the criteria listed here can be used to create a basic office application. This is probably the most used scenario for application development using the Innobate
resource-scheduling components .
There are as many uses as developers can conceive. We know of a community radio which has created a schedule of its programs using Innobate components. It lists all on-air programs and lets the broadcast room see individual
program air schedules at a glance. And as if to test our components
flexibility, the radio program management application keeps and tracks
booked air-time for a year or two in advance, due to on air-time
being a limited resource.
